Its' a wrap: This is Athens City Festival concludes with over 350,000 Attendees and 340 Events
The This is Athens City Festival wrapped in spectacular style with a street party on Athinas Street, drawing 15,000 revelers and capping off a month-long celebration that brought more than 350,000 people to 340 free cultural events across the city.
Organized by Develop Athens, the Festival turned the entire city into a stage—transforming streets, squares, and historic sites into hubs of music, dance, film, storytelling, tours, and community fun.
“This was the remix the city needed—and it went viral,” said Mayor Haris Doukas. “The Festival brought people of all ages together, connecting them emotionally to Athens in new ways. It created a city of inclusion, creativity, and hope.”
Highlights included massive themed parties at iconic venues—10,000 people at the Zappeion’s Full Circle Party, 8,000 at Yucatan, and 15,000 atop Lycabettus Hill—while thousands more enjoyed block parties, children’s shows, DJ sets, workshops, and outdoor screenings.
Develop Athens CEO Ioannis Georgizas praised the overwhelming turnout: “This Festival is a mirror of a city that moves, collaborates, and dares. We thank everyone—artists, organizations, and visitors—who made it a success.”
The City of Athens Festival will return in May 2026, promising even more surprises and unforgettable moments.
Some of the activities were implemented within the framework of the Act "Actions to promote, enhance and promote tourism in the Municipality of Athens" / Sub-project 1, which is included in the "Attica 2021-2027" Program, MIS 6018475 and is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
